How do minutes get charged?

Credits are deducted only for actual talk time — the time your AI is in a conversation with a customer. Each call is rounded up to the nearest minute. Ringing and busy signals don't count. If a voicemail is detected and skipped (no message left), a flat $0.01 detection fee applies instead of a per-minute charge.

Every new account gets 30 free minutes of talk time. No credit card required. You'll need a phone number to start making calls — local numbers are $2/mo and toll-free numbers are $10/mo, billed monthly and cancellable any time.

How does billing work?

Accepted Answer

Phone Stack uses prepaid credits, not metered billing. You buy a credit package (Starter, Growth, or Scale) up front and talk time is deducted as you use it. Credits never expire. You can enable auto-refill to top up automatically when your balance runs low, or stick with manual top-ups. Phone numbers and the Enterprise plan are the only recurring subscriptions.

Are there any other charges?

Two optional micro-charges: $0.01 per voicemail detected and skipped, and $0.016 per contact validated if you opt into phone-type targeting on a campaign (so you can skip landlines on SMS-style outreach). Both are off unless you enable them.

Is there a refund policy?

Credits are non-refundable once used, but unused credits never expire — so there's no risk of losing them. In exceptional situations, contact support and we'll work with you.
